Taking an interest free loan

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What is the Islamic view on begging/borrowing money (for a short time) despite having money though the money he has is set for something which if he touches the money, he might not be able to use it for what it is intended for.

Bismillaah

A: Taking an interest free loan is permissible. As far as begging is concerned, then it is not permissible for the one who has wealth to beg.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
