Sajdah Obligation: What to Do When Reading Surahs in Public?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: When you read a Surah and you reach a place where you have to do sajdah, is it obligatory and is it a sin if you don’t do it? Because if you are reading it by heart in bus or public places how will you do it?

Bismillaah

A: Yes, you should estimate the amount of sajdahs that are outstanding and do them.

You can do it whenever you come home or go to the musjid.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
