Married to a Sinner: My Concern for My Aakhirah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: With the blessing of Allah, I always try to please him, offer prayers and try my best to do all that Allah has ordered to do and not to do anything which is forbidden in Islam. I got married in 18 years and my husband was 34. As it was an arranged marriage so after getting married I came to know that he is involved in so much sins, bad activities, women, addicted to porn etc etc. I’m suffering a lot in my married life due to his activities and interests but along with these difficulties I am so worried about my aakhirah as it’s mentioned in the Quran that bad men are for bad women and good men are for good women. So that means I’m not good if I got married to such a person? To please Allah is always my concern. I always try to follow Islam but still I got married to such a person. Please solve my problem. Please answer in detail as I couldn’t get any satisfactory answer to this query yet. I’m so worried about my position in akhirah, and also explain this ayat in detail.

Bismillaah

A: Don’t put your mind to this. The verse means that bad people are generally inclined to bad. If this was an arranged marriage then you were not married to this person because of your personal inclination.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
