Studying at a Christian school

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I learn at a Christian school. There, we are forced to join Church sessions every day in a Church. Can I attend these sessions provided I do not believe in Christianity?

Bismillaah

A: It is totally haraam for you to be present in these prayer sessions which are conducted in the church. Taking part in these kufr practices amounts to kufr. You should immediately renew your Imaan and make sincere tawbah to Allah Ta’ala for getting involved in these grave sins and make a firm resolve that you will never repeat this in the future. It is not permissible for a believer to even remain in such an environment where he will succumb to wrong influences and thus be forced to compromise in his Deeni values. Under such circumstances it is necessary for one to change his school.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
