Incontinence and Salah: Validity and Recitation from Mobile Phone

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am suffering from incontinence of urine most of the time but I am not coming under the category of mazoor. So whenever I perform namaz I keep tissue paper inside so it can absorb the drop. Even during namaz time the drop falls on the tissue paper. Will my Salaah be valid? and second due to this problem it’s very much impossible to recite Qur’an, so can I recite Qur’an from my mobile phone and is wudhu needed to recite it from mobile phone?

Bismillaah

A: If whenever you perform Salaah you find that urine comes out and it is not possible for you to perform your Salaah throughout the Salaah time without urine coming out, then you are a ma’zoor. You should make wudhu at the beginning of the Salaah time and perform your Salaah with the wudhu. Similarly you may recite the Qur’an. The coming out of urine will not break your wudhu nor Salaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
