Woman covering her hair in front of na mahrams

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have been suffering serious honor violence after my divorce. Some invalid marriage contracts have been done and now they spread false information from me and prevent me from meeting any new candidate. Is it allowed for me to be without headscarf to prove that way that I am not married?

Bismillaah

A: It is compulsory upon a woman to cover her entire body including the face and hair (with the exception of her hands till her wrists and feet) before non-mahrams (strange men) at all times. Since the hair is part of the satr, exposing this part of the body before strangers is not permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
