Is Denying a Sunnah Considered Kufr?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have a question which I hope you can clarify: If someone denies that a certain Sunnah is a Sunnah, under which conditions would this be kufr?

Bismillaah

A: A sunnat which has got textual proof and is categorical.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Q: So would e.g. one who denies Al Sunnan Al Rawatib commit kufr?

Bismillaah

A: Denying it to be sunnat-e-mu’akkadah is not kufr.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
