Wudhu breaking after saying “Assalamu Alaykum”

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Whilst performing a Qada prayer, one had just finished reciting “As-Salamu-Alaykum” of the first Salaam, and before one could complete “Wa Rahmatullah” (and even before the second Salaam), one’s wudhu broke. Is this prayer to be repeated?

Bismillaah

A: The Salaah is valid and one will not have to repeat the Salaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
