Widow and young daughter visiting grave

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa.org.au
Can a widow of the age of 45 visit the grave of her husband? Can a daughter visit her father’s grave?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

_ Young women are not permitted to visit the graveyard. Elderly women are permitted to visit the graveyard in order to remember death and to admonish themselves. A woman who is 45 years of age is not considered elderly; hence it is not permissible for a woman of 45 years of age to go to the graveyard in order to visit her husband’s grave. Similarly, it is not permissible for a young daughter to go to the graveyard in order to visit her father’s grave.
