Natural colours and flavours

What is the Shariah ruling on natural flavours and natural colours?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

It will depend on what the natural flavour or colour is made of. For example, red colour 120 is classified as natural colour; however as it is extracted from insects, it is not halal. (Click here for more details on red 120).
