Ghusl when food particle in teeth

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa.org.au
Is ghusl valid if food particle is stuck between ones teeth? What if the food particle is discoverd after ghusl? Should ghusl be repeated? What if the food particle is discovered after having offered salat?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Ghusl will be valid if the food particle that is stuck between the teeth is such that it will not prevent water from going through. If the food particle is such that it will prevent the water from going through, then the ghusl will not be valid. If someone discovers such a food particle stuck in his teeth after ghusl, he should remove it and wash his mouth; his ghusl will thus become valid. If a person discovers such a food particle stuck in his teeth after he had offered salat (and he knows that the food particle was there when he did the ghusl), he should wash his mouth and repeat the salat.
