Advising wife and dua to have children

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa.org.au
I keep advising my wife regarding Islamic things. She has followed some of them but sometimes she gets irritated by my behaviour. She says that I am forcing things on her. My intention is not to force her. I do it as my duty and that I will be answerable to Allah Ta’ala. She says that it’s her account with Allah and I don’t have to force things on her. She is a very nice woman and we love each other a lot. But sometimes because of these arguments it leads to very very severe fights. Kindly tell me how do I handle this?

Also we are trying to have a second kid and are unsuccessful. Is there any dua for my wife to conceive?  Jazakallahu khair

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Our suggestion to you is that you keep on advising her with love and gentleness. Do not be harsh to her and avoid arguments. Also, keep on making dua for her that Allah Ta’ala changes her heart.

To have a second child, we suggest that you do istighfaar profusely. Also, recite the following verse of the Holy Quran:

قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ

(Quran 3:38)

And Allah knows best.
