Platinum and Titanium Rings

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Mahmoodiyah

Question:

Assalamualaikum

I’d like to know whether Muslim men are permitted to wear platinum rings. I’d also like to know whether they are permitted to wear titanium rings.

Jazakallah

I look forward to your reply

Answer:

A man is allowed to wear a silver ring; on condition it does not exceed 4.3g of silver. It is Haraam for a man to wear a ring made of gold. It is Makrooh Tanzihi (odious) for men to wear rings made from substances other than gold and silver, such as platinum etc.
