Question:
Assalamualaikum
Q1-It has been stated in Tahtaawi, pg 209, Sharah Marakiyul Falaah that in Witr Salaat it is Mustahab to read Durood Shareef after Du’aa e Qunoot. Is this proven from Prophet S.A.W. or the Sahabah R.A ? b-and is there a specific Durood which should be read?
Q2-The Thanaa which is read in Janazah Salaat with two extra words “Wa Jalla Thanaa Uka did Prophet S.A.W. and the Sahabah read this Thanaa in Janazah Salaat or they read the Thanaa which is read in normal Salaat? Please provide reference to answers Jazakumullah

Answer:
1a) Nabi (S.A.W.) has mentioned that: “The Du’aa remains suspended between the heavens and the earth. It does not ascend to the heavens until Durood is recited upon me ”
It is Mustahab to recite Durood upon Nabi (S.A.W.) in every Du’aa that one makes. Since Qunoot is also a Du’aa, the Fuqahaa have stated that it is Mustahab to read Durood at the end of the Qunoot.

b) One should recite the Durood-e-Ebrahim which is recited in the Salaah.

2) Ibne Mas’ood (R.A.) has mentioned that: “The most beloved words to Allah are Subhana kallahumma wa bi hamdika wa ta barakasmuka wa ta aala jadduka wa jalla thanaauka wa laaila ha ghairuka.”
