Question:
Assalamualaikum,
A man who is facing clinical depression ( gets in depressive mood for long time ) for some years. His life is miserable and disturbed as he has gone
silent and cannot speak and express his feeling to his family members. He meets a Barelvi girl and during the discussion finds that he is able to
speak to her because of some qualities she posses. This man has affection for girl but is not madly in love with her.
He feels that by marrying the girl, he can help his depressive state and able to practice Islam and be able to deliver the Huqooq ul ‘Ibaad and lead a
normal social life. He has tried many to normalize things earlier but nothing succeeded and has lost hope from any other source.
The question to be answered are:
1- Can he marry the marry the girl ( the girl is Barelvi in belief and practising the basics i.e. Salaat, Purdah, etc.) .. considering that marriage
is allowed even with the Ahle Kitaab and the man does not find any other way to normalize his life and religious practises( Huqooq ul Allah and Huqooq ul
‘Ibaad).
2- The case mentioned above is a special case … is marrying a Barelvi girl allowed under normal circumstances.
Jazakallah
Answer:
What we are apprised of is that the general Barelvi possesses love for Rasoolullah (S.A.W.) and the pious predecessors, which is indeed a remarkably commendable quality. If the beliefs of the girl are correct, meaning that she has no beliefs which lead to disbelief, then to marry such a girl will be correct
