Safar

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Mahmoodiyah

Question:

Assalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah

Kindly answer the following. May Allah reward you.

A man travelled from a place, not far from Delhi, until he enters Delhi. After entering Delhi, he was not a Musaafir. However, he has plenty work in various parts of the city of Delhi. He therefore travels 10 to 15 km or more to the east within the city and then returns to the original place of entrance or goes west to another section of Delhi which is 15 to 30 km, if he eventually does more kilometers in this way within the city of Delhi, will he then become a Musaafir.

Jazakallah. – Answer is needed for a Jamaat Aalim in Johannesburg

A person will not become Musaafir on completing the Musaafir distance while travelling within Delhi if he was not a Musaafir on entering Delhi.  (Raddul Muhtaar, Vol. 1, Page 578-579, Imdaadul Ahkaam, Vol. 1, Page 722)

And Allah Ta’ala knows best,
