Please assist in authenticating the incident related below:
After the Battle of Hunayn, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) gave Sayyiduna Hakim ibn Hizam (radiyallahu ‘anhu) part of the goods collected after the battle. But Hakim (radiyallahu ‘anhu) deemed it less. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “I have given you a good share and then said, ‘O Hakim, the material things of this world are very attractive. Whoever takes it with a pure heart and uses it well, will be blessed, but he who takes such things out of greed and uses it badly, will not be blessed with what he has. He will be like a man who eats, but is never satiated, and remember that the hand that gives is better than the hand that receives.” Hakim ibn Hizam (radiyallahu ‘anhu) asked, ‘Even in your case O Rasulullah?’ ‘Yes, even in my case’ was Nabi’s (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) reply.

Imams Bukhari and Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded the following version:
Sayyiduna Hakim ibn Hizam (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says:
“I asked Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) for something, and he gave to me. I asked him a second and third time, he gave me as well. The third time he said,
‘O Hakim, this wealth is lush and sweet. Anyone who takes it (without greed) will be blessed in it but anyone who takes it in a desirous way will not be blessed in it, just like someone who eats and is not satisfied. The upper hand (the hand that gives) is better than the lower hand (the hand that receives).’”
Hakim (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says, “I said, ‘O Rasulullah, by the One who sent you with the Truth, I will never again ask anyone for anything until I leave this world.’…” [the narration goes on to explain how he lived up to his word till his demise (radiyallahu’anhu)]
