Du’a on two occasions are seldom rejected

Can you source this Hadith?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Two things are never rejected or seldom rejected; Du’a at the time of Adhan and at the time when people are locked in battle”

Answer

Imam Abu Dawud and Hakim (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Sahl ibn Sa’d (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 2532, Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1 pg. 198 and vol. 2 pg. 113/114. Also see: Al Adhkar: 113)

Imams Ibn Khuzaymah and Ibn Hibban (rahimahumallah) have declared the Hadith authentic.

(Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, Hadith: 419, Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 1720, both with slight variation in the wording)
