Reciting the takbir during the ‘Eid

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Does the following appear in a Hadith:

Zayyinu a’yadakum bittakbir

Answer

Yes it does appear in a weak Hadith recorded by Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) in his Al-Mu’jamul Awsat, hadith: 4370 on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu’anhu).

(Refer: Majma’uz Zawaid, vol.2 pg.197, Targhib, vol.2 pg.153, Al-Maqasidul Hasanah, Hadith: 547 & Mukhtasarul maqasid, Hadith: 514, Mawsu’atul Hafiz ibn Hajar, vol. pg.573 and Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 4578)

Translation

‘Adorn your Eid with the [recital of] Takbir.’

The recital of the Takbir during Eid has been authentically recorded in other narrations too.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
