Allah’s punishment when evil is not stopped

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Is this an authentic Hadith, kindly provide reference?

Urs ibn ‘Umayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that

Rasullullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said:

“Indeed Allah does not punish everyone for the faults of a few disobedient people, until these disobedient people continue to disobey and those who are obedient, despite being able to stop them, do not stop them, at this point, Allah orders for the destruction of all, the obedient and the disobedient.”

Answer

Imams Ahmad and Tabarani (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith with a slightly weak chain. The subject matter is well supported, therefore this narration is suitable to quote.

Musnad Ahmad, vol. 4 pg. 92 and 192 and Al-Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 17/ 343,344.
