Eating together is a source of blessing

Is this authentic?

Sayyiduna ‘Umar ibn Al Khattab (radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Eat together and do not eat separately, as there is more barakah (blessings) when eating in a group”

Answer

Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration.

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3287)

Hafiz Ibn Rajab Al Hambali and ‘Allamah Busiri (rahimahumallah) have declared the chain weak. However, this Hadith is well supported by several other Hadiths and can therefore be considered sound (hasan lighayrihi).

(Fathul Bari of Hafiz Ibn Rajab, vol. 3 pg. 293, Zawaid Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1071, As Sirajul Munir, vol. 3 pg. 101, Al Mudawi, Hadith: 2571. Also see: Targhib, vol. 3 pg. 133)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
