I would like to know what is the reference for the common recital during the days of the 9 to 13 Dhul Hijjah?
And how many times should the Allahu Akbar be recited at the beginning?

Sayyiduna ‘Umar, Sayyiduna ‘Ali and Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhum) are all reported to have recited the following takbirs, from the morning of the day of ‘Arafah (9 Dhul Hijjah) till the ‘Asr salah of the 13th of Dhul Hijjah:
Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar, la ilaha illallahu wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahil hamd.
(Kitabul Athar, Hadith: 209 , Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 5696-5699, Al-Awsat of Ibnul Mundhir, Hadith: 2198-2200 & Al-Mu’jamul Kabir)
These reports are considered reliable.

Note: In these narrations, Allahu Akbar is recited only twice at the beginning, and not thrice.
