What is the meaning of the following words in a Hadith of Sahih Muslim: ‘Famin nailin wa nadihin‘

The words in question appear in the following Hadith:
“Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was in a red leather tent in Al Abtah. Sayyiduna Bilal (radiyallahu ‘anhu) stepped out with Nabi’s (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ablution water. Some Sahabah managed to get [the left over water of Nabi sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam and wiped it on themselves] and then sprinkled [whatever moistness remained on their hands on those who didn’t get the water]”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 503)
Nail refers to those who managed to get the water, and nadih refers to those who sprinkled water on the Sahabah who did not get access to the water.
(Refer: Al Minhaj of ‘Allamah Nawawi, Hadith: 1119 and Fathul Mulhim, Hadith: 1104)
The very next Hadith in Sahih Muslim, clearly mentions the above explanation.
