There will always be a group on truth (haqq)

Is this Hadith authentic and what is the source?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“There will always remain a group of people from my Ummah who will be triumphant on truth (haqq). Those who will oppose them or abandon them, will not be able to harm them. This will continue until the Command of Allah arrives [i.e. until the wind which will blow and take the lives of the believers just before Qiyamah]”

Answer

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Thawban (radiyallahu ‘anhu). Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has also recorded a shorter version. The Hadith is therefore authentic.

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3640, 7311, 7459 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1920)

Imam Bukhari and Imam Ahmad ibn Hambal (rahimahumallah) were of the view that this triumphant group are the reliable scholars and those of knowledge.

(Refer: Sahih Bukhari, before Hadith: 7311 and Al Minhaj of ‘Allamah Nawawi, Hadith: 4927)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
