Another version of the narration regarding the punishment of Allah affecting an entire nation

A follow up query regarding the Hadith you have answered here, is the following version authentic?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “When Allah sends punishment upon a nation then it befalls the whole population indiscriminately and then they will be resurrected [and judged] according to their deeds.”

Answer

Yes, this version of the narration is recorded in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. It is therefore authentic as well.

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “When Allah sends down a punishment on a nation, the punishment will strike all those who are among them, and then they will be resurrected in accordance to their actions.’”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 7108 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2879 with slight variation in the wording. Also see: Fathul Bari, Hadith: 7108)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
