The reward for those who frequent the Masjids during darkness

Is this Hadith reliable?

إن الله ليضيء للذين يتخللون إلى المساجد في الظلم بنور ساطع يوم القيامة

Answer

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). Similar narrations have also been recorded in Sunan Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, and Sunan Ibn Majah.

(Al Mu’jamul Awsat, Hadith: 847. Refer: Targhib, vol. 1 pg. 212/213)

‘Allamah Mundhiri and ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahumallah) have declared the chain sound (hasan).

(Targhib, vol. 1 pg. 212, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 2 pg. 30)

Translation

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Certainly Allah will illuminate a radiant light on the Day of Qiyamah, for those who would [visit] the Masjids in darkness.”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
