What is meant by:
ونحن السابقون يوم القيامة
‘We [This Ummah] will be the forerunners on the Day of Qiyamah’
Answer
Imams Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded these words.
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 876, Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 855)
‘Allamah Nawawi (rahimahullah) writes, ‘The ‘Ulama say, ‘[This Ummah] will be the forerunners of virtue and to enter Jannah’ [i.e. This Ummah will enter Jannah first]
(Sahih Muslim with Al Minhaj, Hadith: 1976)
Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) explains, ‘This Ummah will be the first to be resurrected, the first to give accountability, the first Ummah whose matters will be judged and the first Ummah to enter Jannah.’
(Fathul Bari, Hadith: 876)
This is despite this Ummah coming to the world last, after all the previous nations.
