Musa (‘alayhis salam) asking Allah Ta’ala for a special dhikr

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Nabi Musa (‘alayhis salam) once asked Allah Ta’ala to prescribe to him a dhikr whereby he could remember Allah.

Allah Ta’ala said to him: “O Musa, recite ‘la ilaha illallah’.

Nabi Musa (‘alayhis salam) replied: “All Your creation recite this dhikr, I desire something special.”

Allah Ta’ala then said: “O Musa, if the seven earths and the seven skies are placed on one pan of a scale and la ilaha illallah is placed on the other pan of the scale, la ilaha illallah will outweigh everything.”
