A Hadith Qudsi regarding Allah’s Power, Kingdom, Might and Forgiveness

Translation

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Allah Ta’ala said, ‘O my Bondsmen! All of you are astray except those whom I have guided, so ask Me for guidance, I will guide you. All of you are paupers except those whom I enrich, so ask Me, I shall grant you sustenance. All of you are sinners, except those whom I have forgiven, so whoever knows [with certainty] that I am able to forgive, and seeks My forgiveness, I shall forgive him without concern.

If the first and the last of you, the living and the dead among you, the [young/knowledgeable] and the [old/ignorant] among you were were all as pious as the most pious among My slaves, that would not increase My kingdom even to the extent of a mosquito’s wing. If the first and the last of you, the living and the dead among you, the [young/knowledgeable] and the [old/ignorant] among you were were all as wretched as the most evil among My slaves, that would not decrease My kingdom even to the extent of a mosquito’s wing. If the first and the last of you, the living and the dead among you, the [young/knowledgeable] and the [old/ignorant] among you were to gather in one place, and each one had to ask whatever he desired for, and I were to give each what he asked for, that would not diminish from My kingdom, except as much as if one of you were to pass by an ocean and dip a needle into it and then remove it.

That is because I am Generous, The Perceiver, the All Noble, I do as I wish, My giving and punishment is merely an utterance, i.e. Whenever I will something I say: ‘Be’ and it becomes.’”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
