Always take the good interpretation of a statement if possible

Is this statement authentically attributed to Sayyiduna ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu)?

“Do not think badly of a word uttered by your brother, when you can find a good interpretation for it.”

Answer

Yes.

This is part of a longer narration wherein Sayyiduna ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu) offered eighteen advices, recorded by Imam Ibn Hibban in Rawdatul ‘Uqala.
