Doing deeds only for Allah’s sake

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

I heard part of a Hadith (to this effect):

“One who loves for Allah’s sake and hates for Allah’s sake… will enter jannah.”

I cannot recall the other two actions.

Answer

You are probably referring to the following Hadith:

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:

‘Whoever loves for Allah’s sake, hates for Allah’s sake, gives for Allah’s sake and refuses for Allah’s sake has perfected his Iman.’

(Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 4652)

Note: This Hadith mentions these as the actions for the perfection of Iman. One whose Iman is perfect, will indeed enter Jannah.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
