Khilal of the fingers and toes during wudu

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

I wanted the reference and the authenticity of the following statement.

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said:

‘When performing wudu go between the fingers of your hands and the toes on your feet.’

Answer

This is recorded by Imams Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu’anhuma).

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has declared it sound (hasan gharib)

Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 39 and Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 447. Also see Misbahuz Zujajah, Hadith: 182 and Nasbur Rayah, Hadith: 131-133.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
