Musafahah (shaking hands), A means of forgiveness

Is the following Hadith authentic?

Sayyiduna Al Bara’ ibn Al ‘Azib (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasululah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

No two Muslims meet each other and shake hands, except that Allah forgives them before they part.”

Answer

This Hadith is recorded in Sunan Tirmidhi (Hadith: 2727) and Sunan Abi Dawud (Hadith: 5211/5212).

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has graded the Hadith as sound (hasan).

Similar narrations have also been reported by Sayyiduna Hudhayfah ibnul Yaman, Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah and Sayyiduna Salman Al Farisi (radiyallahu ‘anhum) which support the narration in question.
