“May Allah’s curse be on the thief”

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) cursed those who steal. He said: “May Allah curse thieves!”

What is the status of the Hadith above?

Answer

Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded this as part of a longer Hadith, on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

The Hadith is therefore authentic.
