The reward for giving ghusl, enshrouding and digging a grave for a deceased person

What is status of the following narration?

من غسل ميتا فكتم عليه غفر له أربعين مرة ومن كفن ميتا كساه الله من السندس واستبرق الجنة ومن حفر لميت قبرا فأجنه فيه أجرى له من الأجر كأجر مسكن أسكنه إلى يوم القيامة

Answer

Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1 pg. 354)

Imam Hakim has declared the Hadith authentic and ‘Allamah Dhahabi concurs.

Translation

Whomsoever gives ghusl to a deceased and conceals his defects, will be forgiven forty times. Whomsoever enshrouds a deceased person, Allah will clothe him with the fine silk of Jannah. Whoever digs a grave for a deceased person and buries him, will receive the reward of giving him a place to reside in till the Day of Qiyamah.
