Ummu Ruman bintu ‘Amir

Is this Hadith authentic?

“As she was being lowered into her grave, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, ‘Anyone who wants to see a Hur [a woman of Jannah], should look at Ummu Ruman.” [i.e. Nabi sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam gave glad tidings that she will be in Jannah].

Answer

Imam Ibn Sa’d (rahimahullah) and others have recorded this narration [mursalan] with a weak chain.

(Tabaqat Ibn Sa’d, vol. 8 pg. 216)

Ummu Ruman bint ‘Amir was the wife of Abu Bakr (radiyallahu ‘anhu) and the mother of ‘Abdur Rahman and ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anhuma).

(Refer: Al Isabah, vol. 14 pg. 361)

It should be noted that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) was referring to her being a Jannati, and not that strangers should physically go and look at her face.

I therefore added these explanations in brackets in the question.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
