Carrying out three deeds to receive the reward of a martyr?

Is this authentic?

Whoever does the following deeds, will receive the reward of a martyr:

  1. Reads Salatud Duha
  2. Fasts 3 days every month
  3. Is punctual and habitual on witr Salah, whether on travel or not

Answer

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma).

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 13707)

However, ‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahullah) has declared the text of the Hadith unreliable (fihi nakarah). The Hadith should not be quoted.

(Targhib, vol. 1 pg. 407)

There are other authentic virtues for carrying out the deeds mentioned in the Hadith in question. These should be quoted instead.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
