The temporary pleasures of this world compared to eternal bliss of Jannah

This Hadith often comes up in tabligh. Is it authentic?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “One of the most affluent people who was showered with all types of favours in this world will be brought on the Day of Qiyamah and dipped once in Jahannam. Then it will be said: ‘O son of Adam, did you ever see/enjoy any good? Did you ever have any pleasure?’ He will say: ‘No, by Allah, O my Rabb.’

Then the most destitute of the people in this world, of those who will enter Jannah, will be brought and dipped once in Jannah, and it will be said to him: ‘O son of Adam, did you ever see anything bad? Did you ever experience any hardship?’ He will say: ‘No, by Allah, O my Rabb. I never saw anything bad and I never experienced any hardship.’

Answer

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The Hadith is therefore authentic.
