Is this narration correct?
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Goats/Sheep are a blessing”
Answer
Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded these words as part of a longer narration on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Urwah Al Bariqi (radiyallahu ‘anhu). ‘Allamah Busiri (rahimahullah) has declared the chain authentic.
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 2305, Zawaid Ibn Majah, pg. 315, Hadith: 765)
Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has also recorded the following narration on the authority of Sayyidatuna Ummu Hani (radiyallahu ‘anha):
‘Keep sheep/goats, for there is certainly barakah (blessings) in them.’
