What is the status of this Hadith and where is it found reported by Sayyidunaa Umar (radiyallahu’anhu)?
انما جعلت الخطبة موضع الركتين, من فاتته الخطبة صلى اربعا
Answer
This is a composite of two statements of Sayyiduna ‘Umar (radiyallahu’anhu).
The first part is recorded by Imam Ibn Abi Shaybah in his Musannaf, Hadith: 5367 with a broken chain.
The second part is also in Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 537 as well as Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq, Hadith: 5485 with a broken chain too.
