Was ‘la ilaha illallah Muhammadur rasulullah’ engraved on the ring of Sulayman (‘alayhis salam)?

Can you kindly verify this?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

La ilaha illallah Muhammadur rasulullah was engraved on the ring of Nabi Sulayman (‘alayhis salam)’

Answer

Imam Ibn ‘Adiy (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration. However, the chain consists of a fabricator. The Muhaddithun have therefore declared this Hadith a fabrication.

(Al Kamil, vol, 6 pg. 190, Lisanul Mizan, vol. 4 pg. 270)

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has also recorded a similar narration. However, this chain also consists of an extremely weak narrator.

(Refer: Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 5 pg. 152 and Tanzihush Shari’ah, vol. 1 pg. 237)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
