Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)’s character was the Quran

What is the reference for the famous statement of Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) regarding the character of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to be the Quran?

Answer

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this as part of a longer narration.

Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) was asked, ‘O Ummul Mu’minin! Inform me of the character of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)’? She replied, ‘Do you not recite the Quran’? When the questioner replied in the affirmative, she said, ‘The character of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was the Quran’ [i.e. he would practice upon it, inculcate it’s etiquette, take heed and lesson from the incidents mentioned in the Quran and recite it well]

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 746. Refer: Sahih Muslim with Al Minhaj, Hadith: 1736)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
