‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says, ‘ I am only a part of the goodness of Abu Bakr’ (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

Is this narration authentic?

‘Ali ibn Abi Talib (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said, ‘I am but a good deed among the good deeds of Abu Bakr (radiyallahu ‘anhu)’

Answer

Imam Abu Talib Muhammad ibn ‘Ali Al ‘Ushari (rahimahullah) has recorded this statement of Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) through a suitable chain. Hafiz Ibn ‘Asakir (rahimahullah) has also recorded this narration.
