Another version of the du’a when bidding farewell

Do the following words to recite when bidding farewell appear in a Hadith?

جعل الله التقوى زادك و غفر ذنبك و وجهك للخير حيث ما توجهت

Ja’alal Allahut taqwa zadaka wa ghafara dhanbaka wa wajjahaka lil khayri haythu ma tawajjahta

Answer

Yes. Imam Bazzar (rahimahullah) has recorded these exact words. Hafiz Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators reliable.

(Musnad Bazzar; Kashful Astar, Hadith: 3201. Also see: Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 22, volume: 19 and Kitabud Du’a, Hadith: 818 of Imam Tabarani)

Translation

May Allah make taqwa your provision, may he forgive you and may he direct you to good wherever you may be

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
