Remembering Allah, The best deed and highest in rank

What is the authenticity of this Hadith?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Should I not inform you of the best of your deeds which are the purest in the sight of your Rabb, the highest in ranks, which is better for you than spending gold and silver in charity and which is better for you than meeting the enemy, you striking their necks and they striking your necks?” They said, ‘Certainly’. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘It is the remembrance of Allah Ta’ala’”

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) with a sound chain. The Hadith has also been recorded in other Hadith collections as the statement of Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
