A person will be raised with those whom he loves

Please verify the authenticity of the following narration:

A person will be raised on the Day of Judgment with those whom he imitated in this worldly life.

Answer

I have not come across these words as one Hadith. This seems to be understood from these three Hadiths:

1) Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Whoever imitates a nation is from among them”

(Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 4027. See the authenticity here)

2) Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibnul ‘As says:

“Whoever builds [a home] in the land of the foreigners [that is, the non-Muslims] and observes their Nayruz [Persian New Year] and Mahrajan [a Persian festival celebrated on the equinox] and imitates them till he dies in that state, he shall be resurrected with them”

(As Sunanul Kubra of Imam Bayhaqi, vol. 9 pg. 234. See the authenticity here)

3) Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“…And a person does not love a nation except that he will raised with them [on the Day of Qiyamah]”

(Al Mu’jamul Awsat, Hadith: 6446 with a reliable chain. Refer: Targhib, vol. 4 pg. 27/28. Also see: At Tamhid of Hafiz Ibn ‘Abdil Barr, vol. 16 pg. 22)

There are many authentic Hadiths which state that a person will be with those whom he loves in the Hereafter. Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) have also recorded Hadiths of this nature.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
