Validity of the different duruds in various books

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

We often come across various types of Duruds in books of ‘Wazaif’ and ‘Du’a’ like ‘Durud e Tunajjina’ etc. The wordings of these Duruds is very appealing and heart touching but these are not found in Hadiths Books. Apart from Durud e Ibrahim, can one recite these Duruds also. Are these authentic?

Answer

Despite these forms of salutation not being found in the Hadith, if the meaning is correct, they may be recited, without considering it as sunnah.

Several ‘Ulama and pious individuals of the past had formulated their own forms of salutation in addition to the sunnah forms.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
