Reciting Surah Qadr after wudu

Question

Is the recitation of Surah Qadr after wudu proven from Hadith?

Answer

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is reported to have said:

‘Whomsoever recites Surah Qadr once immediately after wudu, will be from the ‘siddiqin’ (truthful ones), whomsoever recites it twice, will be written in the register of the martyrs, and whomsoever recites the Surah thrice, Allah will raise him with the Ambiya’

(Musnadul Firdaws, Hadith: 5589)

‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) has stated that there is no basis for this Hadith. It is therefore not suitable to quote.
