Is this Hadith reliable?
عن حمزة بن عمرو الأسلمي رضي الله عنه أنّه سأل رسول الله صلّى الله عليه و سلّم عن الصيام في السفر فقال رسول الله صلّى الله عليه و سلّم : أيُّ ذلك عليك أيسرُ فافعل. يعني إفطارَ رمضانَ أو صيامَه في السفرِ
Answer
This Hadith is recorded by Imams Tabarani and Tammam Ar-Razi (rahimahumallah).

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has also recorded a similar narration from the same Sahabi (radiyallahu’anhu)

The Hadith in question is authentic.
Translation:
Sayyiduna Hamzah Aslami (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that he asked Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) about fasting while on journey.
Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) replied:
‘Do whatever is easier for you.’
In the narrations of Bukhari and Muslim, Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) replied: ‘Fast if you wish, and if you wish do not fast.’
Note: Giving the traveller the choice of not fasting on journey, does not mean that he is exempt from making up for the missed fast (qada) later, as Allah Ta’ala has clearly explained in the Quran the rule of qada fasts for the traveller.
