In a previous Hadith Answer regarding the dua ‘Allahumma la tu’minna makrak’, the reference was given of Al-Firdaws of Imam Daylami.
However in the version of Imam Daylami I have seen it is ‘La turina makrak’.
Hafiz Sakhawi (rahimahullah) has also quoted it as ‘La tu’minna makrak’.
Which version is better to take ‘la turina’ or ‘la tu’minna’. Is it okay to take ‘la tu’minna’ if it is not in the primary source?
Answer
It is generally better to recite what appears in the original source. However in this case, since several Hadith Masters have cited the other version, it seems like their copies had that wording. One may practice on either of the two.
